hanging at g-mas

we had a couple days hanging out in the heat waiting for bella and gianna to join us at grandma's house. it is so evident that we have become used to hawaii's mild climate. i think i am comfortable if it is between 65-85 degrees. no more, no less. thank goodness grandma has air conditioning and we ran out for an inflatable pool. this may come as a surprise to you, but the only thing coen was interested in playing was airplanes and somehow he manged to get anyone and everyone to play with him.

grand daughter lunch

after a wonderful week at stinson, wes had to fly out to denver to so some scientist stuff and coen and i headed up to medford. my aunt and uncle were so kind to come down to stinson for a couple days and then take coen and i back up to southern oregon. it just so happened that all the grand daughters were in the same place at the same time, so we stole grandma one afternoon and took her out to jacksonville for brunch at the bella union. it was delicious and fun. i can't wait to do it again!

a big thanks to nana and fav aunt for hanging out with coen! he had a great time, i just don't have any pictures!

go giants!

since stinson beach is just an hour north of san francisco and the giants just happen to be playing at home, we decided to head into the city one day and catch a game. gami, pop pop and pompa went with us, and my aunt and uncle met us there too! it was quite the party in the bleacher seats! coen's mosty most favorite part of the game was the concessions guys that walked around selling stuff. he wanted one of everything, every time they came by. i let him pick ONE thing to buy and he ended up with a giant (ha!) sized bag of cotton candy. also, he now walks around the house pretending to be one of those guys, announcing what ever it is he is selling. he's pretty good.

the bleachers were a great place for us, because they have a kids baseball field directly behind the seats and coen got to run around and hit the ball. why are baseball parks so fun? i mean, i watched less than 5 minutes of the game (enough to know we lost) but i still had a blast.

small side note...this was not coen's first giants game. technically he attended a game at safeco field when he was 6 weeks old. given the memory on this kid, he may ever remember it.

stinson beach week!

we had another fabulous week at the beach. i was not great at taking pictures, and that makes me a little sad now looking back. but the week was filled with the usual themed dinner nights, lots of lounging, playground time, and hanging out. next year miss marin will be joining us for her first beach trip, and coen will have to share the camera spot light. i think he is quite okay with that, to be honest.

we miss you, stinson beach!

trains!

this year we flew into sacramento and had a couple days to hang out before we headed to stinson beach. it was extra fun because some of our mississippi cousins were also in sac and we took the kiddos to the train museum in old sac. trains aren't quite planes, but coen still managed to have a good time with libby and ellie!

captain coen

alright, here is the deal. i am way behind on updates...this i know. the problem is that we have been having so much fun i can't seem to bring myself to stop and blog. but since the boy (coen, not wes) crashed early tonight i am going to at least make an effort. don't be fooled, we are still smack in the middle of having fun...in fact this week we are lounging poolside at the marriott waikoloa while wes attends a conference about volcanoes. lucky him, lucky us.

it is nice to be back on the island, but man did we have a great summer vacation to the west coast. coen's fascination with planes only continues to deepen. which makes traveling with him pretty darn easy. we have yet to board a plane and not be invited into the cockpit. on our flight to califormia the pilot suggested we start a flight journal and have the pilots sign it. he said his kids started theirs when they were coen's age and are now on journal number 5! such a fun idea, and coen loves having the pilots names in his book. he also tried to convince them that he would just sit in the jump seat and be their co-co-pilot. nice try.
