our last weekend in vancouver could have easily been spent preparing for our 'over-seas' adventure. but how is that fun? instead we did it up big with a houseful of guests and a belated 30th birthday bash for wes. woop!
wes' birthday is january 8th and he was warned well in advance that baby beckett was due to arrive on the 6th, and would totally steel wes' birthday thunder. it's a good thing wes was warned, cause it totally happened. however, i couldn't be a complete loser wife so i planned a belated overnight celebration at mcmenimen's edgefield. if you know wes, you know this is one of his favorite places on earth!
did someone say cheesecake? it is his favie fav :)
we were so blessed to spend the evening with such great friends. by the time everyone was ready to leave the restaurant i looked at the time...we had been there for 6 hours! holy moly, how did that happen?
the grown-ups weren't the only ones having a good time. all the kids camped out at our house with our very dear friend, caryn. they had a blast! having some older kiddos in the house for the weekend gave wes and i a huge break. they were great helpers and coen loved all the attention. we are looking forward to having lots and lots of vistors on the island...soon, we hope!
Happy Belated Birthday to your man. I'm jealous... one thing I miss about Portland are the McMennamin's establishments.
ReplyDeleteI think you meant you didn't want to be a "loser" wife! :)
